Star of India is my favorite Athens restaurant. The food and service are always excellent, and the atmosphere is intimate, which I find desirable. My wife and I have been going to Star of India for over 20 years. You will not be disappointed.
We tried this restaurant out and so glad we did! Service was amazing! It does take time to make the food but it’s worth the wait. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and we enjoyed our food. We got tiki masala, Samoas with the mint chutney is amazing! Love the spicy chutney! And we got the mixed tandoori and naan. We love spicy food so will try the spicier entrees next. Looking forward to our next visit!
Pre-Covid, this was by far the best restaurant in Athens. Since Covid, portions have gotten smaller, foods less flavorful, and more expensive. One thing I really struggle with is the amount of oil they often use, often inches will be floating on the top. That being said, the food is still above average for Athens.
Amazing food with amazing service! The drive to eat here is so worth it.
