Please do not send your children here. I spent seven months in this program and any "progress" I made was short-lived and came at a high price. My education was ruined. My mental health is worse than before, though since this program is only concerned with behavior, I suppose that's to be expected. I have all but lost the ability to show and feel things like love and affection, especially towards my parents. Just a great experience and wonderful organization overall. My son benefited greatly from it. All the counselors did an amazing job and I feel my son came home a different person - in a very good way. It was a hard thing turning your child over for several months but know they will be in excellent care. Also, shout out to the staff for dealing with all the insurance side of things.
STAR Guides has been an incredible experience for our family. From the very beginning, the staff showed genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. I went to starguides in January of 2023. When I first got there I didn't know who I was. I was just someone trying to he like everyone else. I quickly learned that life is going to throw obstacles everyday many times a day. It's all about how to choose to face those obstacles. Starguides taught me a lot. Even though I didn't graduate.
