Beautiful place to visit for a quiet and peaceful walk. The birds were so well taken care of and we even saw one of the trainers playing with a vulture. Really neat nature preserve building as well! The trails were well labeled and kid friendly. Our 4 and 3 year old boys loved it.

I visited this sanctuary on a vacation to Acadia and am so glad I came across it. It was a beautiful hidden gem. The trails all throughout (including at the alternate entrance that's open after 5pm on weekdays) were so serene. And the sanctuary bird area was the absolute highlight for me. Very peaceful and interesting place in the middle of the city. There were several walking trails from easy to more difficult. I use a cane and I was able to walk with not much trouble.
