On February 6, I had my first appointment with Dr. Laura Schneider, and I was informed that everything would be fully covered by my insurance. I was then scheduled for a pre-surgery consultation on February 26, but upon arrival, I was unexpectedly asked to pay for the first visit. Furthermore, they could not provide any clear information regarding the costs of the surgery itself or the follow-up visits. I know people can have negative experiences, and they leave negative reviews about them, but I have to say my experience with Stamford Opthalmology could not have been better. Front desk staff was friendly and patient, I waited five minutes before being called in for my appointment; Dr. Sherwood was personable, thorough, listened to my problem, suggested several treatments and couldn't have been nicer. I was kept waiting for an hour and a half for a routine eye examination. I finally left because it was clear that the doctor (Dr. Ross Hirsch) would not be available for even more time. I was left in a small, stuffy room, and no one came in to apologize or to explain the reason for the delay. It was my first time at the practice and will not be returning.
Bad Vibes. Extremely unprofessional. Unethical. Illegal? Aim to find out. It took two visits to get a correct script for glasses. First exam was incomplete. When I called the office later that day and described why I felt it was incomplete the office manager told me to come in for a second exam at no expense to me. When I got there no one knew anything.
