About this business
Most barbecue restaurants have introduced gas or electric cooking methods, but not us! We still slow cook our barbecue over a pit of hardwood hickory coals. The brick pits are completely enclosed, except for a bit of breathing room at the bottom. The hardwood coals are carefully monitored because they will dry the face of the pork if they get too hot. Stamey's Barbecue We love their barbecue! My husband usually gets a barbecue plate, but I like a barbecue sandwich. However, the best part is the peach pie and the sweet tea! On days I don't want to cook, we get take-out and have enough for 2 days!
OK in a pinch Decent BBQ but nothing to write home about. The huspuppies aren't too bad. They do give you a lot of food for the money. Stameys will satisfy your 'cue craving if you're in the area, but it's not the best 'cue joint in the area.
Great 'Q for a Great Price This is great BBQ. No frills here, just the basics on the menu. I love how I can get a full meal for my family for cheap. They are really fast for take out too. Great place to get yummy bbq when you are watching your wallet.
great BBQ Not being from the south BBQ was a new thing for me. In Canada bbq is something you do not something you eat. I have tried a few different types of bbq since moving to the south and found Stamey's to be the best. The sauce is vinegar based so if you don't like vinegar ask for it on the side. I usually do. You can also buy their bbq frozen and I will tell you that it is equally as good as their fresh. Another must to try here is the hushpuppies (with a little hot sauce for dipping) YUMM YUMM
