Took my husband in for fever, chills and uncontrollable shaking. Already had the bloodwork showing signs of infection. His hip was swollen and painful. He also had an old hip implant that we suggested may be causing the infection. No interest in his hip or what we had to say or the bloodwork suggesting infection. I have been an ER Nurse for 22 years and when my mom told me she was going to Good Samaritan Hospital I was skeptical because it was a small hospital in a small town which probably meant limited resources. Good Samaritan Hospital exceeded my expectations without me mentioning that I was a nurse!!! They had no clue. The ER staff was excellent along with the doctor and registration. Had an issue that required me to use the Emergency Department. I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole in the ED who was a fantastic help to me and my family. Very thankful for the Emergency Department team at St. Mary’s!
I had a colonoscopy done here with Dr. Lawrence. The staff here is very nice and friendly. They did take concern in my health and make sure I was comfortable before and after the colonoscopy. My only issues is with the discharge notes only telling part of a conversation before leaving hospital. Making it out like the patience didn't want to listen or follow instructions that may cause health issues. I listen to everything the nurse had to tell me and made sure I understood it clearly.
