Unbelievable transformation attending opening night after a $173MM multi-year construction project. As members, we followed the SLSO all around St Louis the last 2 years and enjoyed every minute but to be back in the new Powell Hall was amazing. I would have no problem if every single ticket was $7 more expensive, but charging a $7 service fee for every singe ticket you buy is ridiculous. Jesus said, Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’
The slso put on a performance during their off-season to benefit the St. Louis tornado victims. The draw was BeBe Whinan, who sang 2 songs, one requiring audience participation. Thus, the bulk of the one hour presentation was performed by the orchestra, and the Urban League CEO + Orchestra CEO spoke about 20 minutes, and a poet spoke. So, all in all, we donated by buying tickets at whatever price point you chose and attended a slso concert.
