Had a terrible at home experience with this palliative care team. Gave us absolutely no idea on what to expect once death occurred in terms of logistics. I won't go into detail but what turned into our final "5 days" lasted 30 minutes, nurses then rushed out the door in a flap. I presume this is not normal, now Im 3 weeks out the other side, I can see how dreadful this service was... truly upsetting. I hope other people get a better experience.
The hospice is very clean and inviting. The care given to my husband was excellent. But I was not treated well. I had no updates and when he died no phone call. The medical examiner could not find me and I had to find her. Fortunately she was lovely. I don't know what was being said about me for this behaviour to happen. But whatever it was please be considerate to all family members and have no opinion of them. One side of a story can paint no picture.
After my sister was transferred to St Joseph’s from the Whittington Hospital, she was a much happier person for her remain weeks. The staff are so helpful, understanding and caring here. Even in that sad time, we can take away some happy memories
