Waiting, waiting and waiting that’s all you get here. I know that people are prioritized depending on their condition but still the wait times are crazy. I have had very bad abdominal pain which got more worse as I had to sit 7 hours on chair waiting to see someone.
I came in with excruciating pain. Once they saw how bad i was they immediately gave me something to control the pain. Thank God... after I was calm they gave me a MRI right away and found out I had herniated discs in my back. That took great care of me and booked me an appointment at the hamilton pain clinic and also gave me a prescription to take home until my appointment date. Extremely disappointing experience at the Emergency Department. We arrived around 1 AM as my friend was suffering from acute, sharp abdominal pain and was visibly in distress, crying for help. Despite this, no doctor was on duty at midnight, and no one checked on him for over 4 hours. Nurses were standing around, talking about personal matters, or just staring at screens, with no urgency or compassion. How many times does a concussed person have to repeat i cannot verbalize. I need paper. I forgot my flashcards. Not get my communication accessability needs met nor understood promptly. But be expected to TALK?! Then not be prioritized and told you have hours to wait under conditions that Will further worsen and exasperated my head injury that would put me in the red zone! Brain dead! I had to leave. I came for HELP. This is gutting. Not professional insensitive not trained.
