This was a great break from reality. Such a peaceful setting with log cabins for lodging and walking trails that you could explore nature and peace without having to be accompanied by staff. They let you be yourself and help you see what others see in you. With a good community and being part of the community makes recovery possible. The after care with the alumni zoom meeting every Thursday with Mellisa is perfect for someone like me. I’m always on the go and have no home group to be apart of. I don’t even know where I’d be today without this place. I came here not once, but twice—once when I was ready, and again when I relapsed and felt like I had failed myself completely. But what I found here both times wasn’t judgment… it was understanding, compassion, and people who truly cared. I thank st joes. Because of them I’ll be 17 months clean in 5 days. They held me to my bs. I never felt so good & this was my 2nd time going there. They say keep coming back it works if you work it and they’re right. Now I’m an ambassador now to help other from this sickness we call addiction. Thank you to SJI, because April of 2026, in one month, I will be sober for 1year. I’ve been to several places for rehabilitation in my prior years some more than once and not one single place had stuck with me. But Saint Joes I took it all in and made sure to take sobriety seriously. Not only did the help from counselors or peers but the other clients there helped me settle in fast and became a family.
