What a mixed bag of reception staff! Some incredibly helpful and some just plain dreadful. Today I experienced dreadful. Not going to go into details on an internet forum but rather than trying to find an answer to a problem, she was solely focused on enforcing rules and had no concern about patient care.
I'm genuinely surprised at the negative comments on here regarding the reception team. I have always found them to be extremely knowledgeable and have always been spoken to in a pleasant manner. Furthermore, the doctors and professionals associated with the practice have always seen or phoned me promptly after the initial contact with reception. I would recommend St James Surgery to my friends and family.
Having previously rated this surgery 5*, my recent three experiences with the reception team have been less than satisfactory, to the point Debbie was arguing down the phone with me in a threatening and condescending tone over an address query. I then today required help after speaking with 111 and a visit to hospital. Incredibly rude and hostile behavior from the reception team. Twice I've encountered them and asked the simple and basic questions regarding appointments etc. On both occasions Sally and the other reception team member, who refused to tell me her name and didn't have a badge on were incredibly hostile and unwelcoming.
