Amazing doctors who provide an excellent service. Unfortunately it is impossible to book a face to face appointment via reception staff who are, in the main, polite but not helpful. What is their role if it always "you cannot book to see a doctor", or "there are no appointments" ?
I am surprised at the negative comments on here, I have always found the receptionists and team at St James so helpful and caring whenever I ring. Very happy with the surgery, and have many friends with the surgery who agree. They all work so hard and cope so well through a this difficult time the NHS is going through!
What a mixed bag of reception staff! Some incredibly helpful and some just plain dreadful. Today I experienced dreadful. Not going to go into details on an internet forum but rather than trying to find an answer to a problem, she was solely focused on enforcing rules and had no concern about patient care.
I'm genuinely surprised at the negative comments on here regarding the reception team. I have always found them to be extremely knowledgeable and have always been spoken to in a pleasant manner. Furthermore, the doctors and professionals associated with the practice have always seen or phoned me promptly after the initial contact with reception. I would recommend St James Surgery to my friends and family.
