I am surprised at the negative comments on here, I have always found the receptionists and team at St James so helpful and caring whenever I ring. Very happy with the surgery, and have many friends with the surgery who agree. They all work so hard and cope so well through a this difficult time the NHS is going through!
What a mixed bag of reception staff! Some incredibly helpful and some just plain dreadful. Today I experienced dreadful. Not going to go into details on an internet forum but rather than trying to find an answer to a problem, she was solely focused on enforcing rules and had no concern about patient care.
I'm genuinely surprised at the negative comments on here regarding the reception team. I have always found them to be extremely knowledgeable and have always been spoken to in a pleasant manner. Furthermore, the doctors and professionals associated with the practice have always seen or phoned me promptly after the initial contact with reception. I would recommend St James Surgery to my friends and family.
Having previously rated this surgery 5*, my recent three experiences with the reception team have been less than satisfactory, to the point Debbie was arguing down the phone with me in a threatening and condescending tone over an address query. I then today required help after speaking with 111 and a visit to hospital.
