This surgery has been the best I have ever come across as an NHS professional myself. Despite my own personal reasons for using them, they have been understanding and vigilant within their abilities to do so. I would like to publicly write that all GPs since end of Covid-19 have taken the stance to call on the day for an appointment on the same day and no longer offer advanced appointment bookings. I went on the NHS website to search and register with a GP online over 5 weeks ago as I was moving to the uni of Liverpool from my home town over 4 hours away. I entered my postcode of L6 and St James healthcentre came up saying it was accepting new patients.The on campus healthcentre has an appalling reputation, so I chose St James from this NHS list. I had an appointment today with Dr Ndogwu/ Nchowku (cant recall her name)regarding my fibroadenoma, and I didn’t feel welcomed at all. From the start to the end of the consultation, the doctor was very stand-offish and showed little person-centred care. She carried out the physical observations but didn’t engage in conversation or offer any reassurance, only saying that she would refer me to the clinic. It was a disappointing experience.
