What a gem this place is. The hotel is cozy and inviting and the restaurant/bar on site has the best food on the western slope by far. Some of the pasta dishes are homemade pasta and the cocktails are affordable and upscale. You can ask for a tour and get all the history of the place as well. The manager is very nice and knows a lot about the history of the hotel.
What a legendary, colorful hotel in a setting that could not be more naturally captivating. I felt so at home at the St. Elmo! Extremely convenient Main st. location in walking distance to anything in Ouray. Charming restaurant and bar downstairs with a talented chef. Friendly and dedicated staff. Charming and historic interiors! Can’t wait to return.
I stopped by St. Elmo on a Thursday night, and the vibe was relaxed and easy, the kind of place you’re instantly glad you chose. There’s a noticeable sense of renewal here with new hotel management and a new chef, and it shows in the overall experience. The food was delicious and well executed. Do Not under any circumstances stay here. Check in is a 3. It is currently 3:15 and front door is locked and no one here. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!!! Finally got into room. No hot water and no internet connection. Morgan has been lovely.
The downstairs bar and dining room was a surprise. Id been to the patio before in the summer. The food and service is getting better every time I go.
