Though Cosmas&Damian has a convincing website and it's known as one of the (slightly) less abusive adult homes, the best I could say about it is that I don't know how anyone resigns her/himself to living there until death (as essentially all residents do). I lived there for about 2 years; I got out by a fluke. There are 49 adult homes in NYC, all regulated by DOH, all close to identical, all being a form of hell on earth.
