The building has been in major disrepair for years. I would know, as I lived at The St. Charles between 2016 and 2021. The living conditions got so bad that the nonprofit overseeing operations at 619 3rd Ave had to have the entire 7 story unreinforced masonry structure shuttered (condemned). Now the front facade of the once glorious Rector Hotel is covered up with plywood teeming with graffiti. The 500 and 600 blocks of 3rd Avenue are riddled with crime and impropriety. And that is an understatement.

Hello Seattle, Washington 💘👍 GUYS, this place was my old studio Apt. # 609 { sixth floor across from elevator doorway, I { Christopher } used to lived there early June/July 1996' thru 2004' my old rent used to be $300.00 monthly payments.

The St. Charles Hotel or Rector Hotel was built in 1911 to 1913 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
