Very nice, reminds me of a 5 star Hilton. Staff really cares and helps their patients.
Updated: Ecumen management replied to my review and their response is concerning. The incident they describe doesn't match what happened with my aunt which tells me this has happened to other residents as well. It makes me even more worried because the situation I mentioned was very recent and very scary. First responders don't seem to have a way to get into the facility unless the resident in distress is well enough to let them in. Also, the building used to have emergency call buttons and those are no longer operational. O... read more
The facility and people are nice. However, in the event of a medical emergency, care will be delayed for your loved one. My aunt had a medical emergency and the paramedics and police were unable to get into the building. Residents have asked management to work with the local first responders but they have not done so. If your relative there is unable to buzz the paramedics in, they can't access the building. This is as scary as it is disappointing. Ecumen, please get the cops a key or lockbox!
The staff is wonderful. The facilities are well kept and the design is welcoming. Update: my dad enjoyed his time here. The staff were exceptionally supportive and caring. I felt my dad had another "family" taking care of him. I couldn't ask for better people to be in his life.
Priorities for supporting Mother's stay at Ecumen St. Benedict's Community - Monticello was: personal safety; personal security; and attentive skilled health professionals attending to our aging parent's needs. These needs were met and often exceeded. The pricing structure is fair market based. The broader facility is kept clean, the faith based services are appreciated and multiple observations were made on efforts to host social events that encourage residents to gather and minimize isolation.
