I would give 0 stars if I could. I have never been so discouraged by a medical team. I came in for a routine visit in March and my doctor, Melissa Schwab, ordered a test that I did not ask for nor did I show any symptoms of needing. This test came back to me with a bill over $1,000. I have been on the phone with her team, my insurance, and the SSM billing team over and over and over again for the past 2 months asking for a billing review. The ENT Dr. Lyon and outpatient surgery staff were excellent at Dean SSM in Stoughton. The front desk and registration staff were very nice. Thank you!
Update as of May 2024 - nothing has improved. They never have enough staff because they all keep quitting! I have to wait weeks to get seen by my PCP. Doctor takes WEEKS, literally weeks, to reply to her MyChart messages and frankly, it's not her fault, she's just insanely overworked.Then you try to call and make an appointment and you sit on hold for over 10 minutes. Absolutely do not go here. Patient care is not valued. Profits are. If you already have an appointment, take this advice: DO NOT be patient with the check-in team if they are being slow, the system is having issues, or the person checking you in is new and therefore requiring more time to navigate the system. If you give them time, patience, and grace, the process may take a long time. YOUR CHECK IN TIME IS THE END OF THE INTERACTION, NOT THE BEGINNING. They WILL mark you as a late arrival. If you have a 3:30 PM check in, show up at the front desk at 3:17 PM, but the person at the front desk doesn't finish filling out your paperwork until 3:34 PM, you are considered late and the physician will not see you. They have a "strict 15 minutes per appointment" schedule and will allow 4 minutes to decide whether a patient receives care.
