Port St. Johns River was originally named Welaka by 'The Mayaca'; the word Welaka means "String of Pearls" because of all of the countless lakes and springs that magically sprout off of the St. Johns River, plus this River was their major highway with their canoes when it came to trading. St. John's River is a magical ecosystem, and the countless lakes and springs that come from St. Johns River are pure magic!! 🪷

2025-11-03. I am giving this place a five-star rating. I didn't actually use the ramp, but it appears to be a nice ramp. Parking is very limited. The No-seums were terrible this morning, so this is one of the few reviews where I am not posting photos.
