I booked 2 rooms through booking at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Gallup and prepaid for the rooms using my card on file which I have never had issues with. I received confirmation of payment and the money was removed from my account. When I got to the hotel to check in I was told only one of my rooms was paid for and the second I had to provide payment because the card used was declined (the card number that showed for that room wasn't even mine) prior to them checking me in. Never actually traveled through Gallup. Not near as bad as everyone says. Decent little town with a great location for the hotel. Right on the main strip. Rooms were clean, hotel staff was friendly, your normal Springhill Suites by Marriott. Will continue to stay out Marriotts whenever they are available
Immediately entering my room I noticed a musty odor. When I took my shoes off I learned why as the carpet was damp. The tv in the room did not work. When I checked in I had my cats with me and front desk manager let me in the door. At no time did she inform this particular hotel was not pet friendly. Upon checking out I was hit with a $200 cleaning fee. Considering my cats stayed in their crate this seems like a ridiculously heavy fine specifically since it should have been addressed at check in
