Great location for access to downtown Charleston without being in the hectic traffic. Nice views of the marinara. Jacqueline (sp?) at the front desk was welcoming, gracious and very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. We were fortunate to get a room at the end of the floor overlooking the marina with a small balcony. This was real nice as there was a fireworks display on James Island, we were able to sit outside and watch.
Made a mistake and booked the wrong hotel on the wrong rate. Notified the hotel more than a week out and asked for a refund so I could stay at the correct hotel. Platinum Elite Bonvoy member and they refuse to make this situation right. Absolutely terrible customer service.
I have stayed in more than 100 Marriott properties and this ranks in the bottom 10%. The property needs a significant refurbishing. The staff member at checkin was not very helpful till the manager came by and solved the issue with using my credit card on file. The breakfast buffet was well below the standard that I have experienced at similar properties.
