Springfield Symphony Orchestra The Springfield Symphony Orchestra ( SSO ) was founded in 1943 by Edwin Juergens, William Minnick and William Fiedler, the organization's first conductor. The first complete concert was performed in 1944 at Central Methodist Church in Springfield. Tonight's concert was fantastic. The guest cellist did some really cool improvisations and the Tchaikovsky number was super energetic and exciting. Thank you everybody for a wonderful evening
The 2024-25 season opening concert was incredible. Maestro Peter Stafford Wilson again put together a program that was a delight from start to finish. The performance of the Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 was world-class and Miriam Smith played beautifully and I was mesmerized watching her. What a treat, I can’t wait for the next concert.
The symphony concert was outstanding and we had such a great time taking our 2 boys! I highly recommend for families, couples or singles for an evening out. We will definitely be attending many more concerts in the future.
We attended last nights performance - Emerging Brilliance at the Kuss Auditorium. The talent of the orchestra was on par with that of Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati and I felt like I had a smile on my face for the entire performance! It was so wonderful that I am planning on buying season tickets. And don’t even get me started on the atmosphere and experience of the Kuss auditorium!
