Contacted Sports Authority corporate giving several months ago prior to any of these bankruptcy and store closing issues about our Camp Magical Moments Cancer Camp for Kids that is in its 12 years as a FREE camp for kids ages 7-12 who have or have had cancer. Upcoming deadlines for taking advantage of our customer programs: LOYALTY PROGRAM: Customers’ outstanding rewards will expire on May 25, 2016, at which time the League program will terminate. CREDIT CARDS: The Sports Authority credit card can be used to make purchases through May 25, 2016, at which time it will no longer be accepted as a valid form of payment.
When Sports Authority moved into the Midtown Crossing, (in Los Angeles), I was so happy to have a sports store in my neighborhood. No more treks to the Westside to get what I needed. But over the last 6 months, I find less and less reasons to enter your store. The discontinuation of services and products have been disappointing and frustrating to say the least. Went to Sports Authority Framingham MA to buy the running shoes that were advertised in this week's flier. When asked where to find it the employee said they were redoing the shoe dept. and didn't have any. When the manager was called (Bill ? was his name) He wouldn't even order a pair from another store or offer a rain check to hold a pair for the sale price when they arrived. He basically said "Too bad." No wonder you guys are closing stores. That's horrible customer service!
I bought a pair of Nike sneakers (online) at full retail price. They were used! When I called customer service the representative told me he thought that it was hysterical! I shipped them back and received another USED pair, not even in a box this time but with a sports authority note in the toe indicating that I was lucky because I scored a deal. I bought a pair of gloves that were too big. Brought them in to exchange for size only with my cash receipt. Store employees refused to exchange them, tags still on them, never worn, unless I gave them my driver's license and allowed them to enter my information in their database. They said if I had waited a day, no ID necessary! ???? Ridiculous policy! Horrible service.
If you are Mr. Foss you might want to look at your policy for replacing a broken parts. I needed a part about the size of a golf ball that was not working . The customer service agent was very nice but couldn't explain to me why Sports Authority had to ship out an entire boxing stand that must cost the company more to ship and for me to re ship then you made. If this is any indication a little fix will save your company millions .
I was at store number 228 in Houston with my family. And had one of worst experiences I have ever had. I'm a frequent customer to your store and have spent a lot of money with your company. Monday June 29th around 8:20pm I went into your store to purchase a few clothing items, golf balls, and a few other accessories. As I was shopping there were 2 balls on the ground by the putters.
