Very helpful people and great service!
Soon River Electric is absolutely terrible. It feels like living in the third world. I have never had so many power outages in my life, and I have lived in a lot of places all over the world. The service is also extremely expensive.
Lost power. Called into office lady was very nice. Did some checking. Said I had no power at meter and that she would send someone out. Within 30 minutes Paul came and within another 30 minutes Paul had power back on. A squirrel had gotten up by the transformer and taken out the power. Paul had to trim trees to get to the transformer. People complain about a little bit higher prices and I used to be one of them but what I have realized is the value of having LOCAL people to call and LOCAL people to respond is worth the it. The electricity is more expensive than other companies in the area by far. It says it is a coop but it is not. There are no "member" benefits. There is a board of people customers pay to make sure their own interests are protected but not customers. I rarely receive the bill and never a late notice, just a harassing and unkind phone call reminder on the few times forget to send a bill that I don't receive.
