A Waste of Our Money – My mother and I decided to try Spondivits in hope of a good lunch, but were immensely disappointed. Keep it simple at this fresh seafood shack near the airport. – The Scene Tucked between a Waffle House and a McDonald's, Spondivits, with its mountain lodge ambiance, feels distinctly out of place. Inside, diners can sit elbow to elbow at a wraparound bar, perch on stools at long-legged tables, or slide into fairly comfortable wooden booths. very bad service – i'm with a large corporation,in atlanta training. visited spondivits , received poorest service ever. very rude waitress .requested separate bills to expense, waitress and hostess said "we don't do that anymore." when asked if this was posted , hostess rolled her eyes and rudely commented that it was posted all over . we needed each persons charges , waited 30 minutes, the waitress couldn't figure the total bill amount. i added on calculator each persons total , tax and 15% tip. she insisted it was short, ... read more
I don't undertstand the hype. – My boyfriend and I went to Spondivits by the airport on the 12th. We ordered, ate, and decided to get a to go box for our leftover food. The waitress came to our table, and reached for or plates,we asked her to get it to go, she said ok. Next thing we know we see her throwing our food out at the bar. THE PITTSBURGH GIRLS – WE GO TO THE SPONDIVITS ON VIRGINIA AVE ON THE 14TH OF EVERY MONTH..WE FLY TO THE ATL JUST TO SEE (JAY, ADAM, CHIP, AND MIKE)AT SPONDIVITS...MY FRIEND AND I THINK THAT WE WILL NEVER FIND MORE COURTEOUS PEOPLE AND GOOD SEAFOOD AND DRINKS THAN SPONDIVITS...LAST MONTH WE ATE THERE THE 14TH 15TH AND 16TH...WE LOVE SPONDIVITS AND WE ARE GOING EARLY THIS WEEKEND. Yummy fun! – Love this place! Great shrimp and crayfish...get um steamed! The casual atmpshere certainly adds to the fun. Almost like being at the beach, good seafood, laid back environment. Worth the time to check this on out!
Thought we were in for a real treat after having the Chowder, which was delicious. Main courses were not good at all. I had surf and turf, which was OK at best. The other main course was a bucket of lobster tail. They tasted so bad that we didn't eat them. We let the manager know. He didn't seem very concerned, and went ahead and charged us for them anyway. I Don't think I'll ever go back. Our waitress left for the day about the time the food showed up....service pretty much stunk after that.
Holy Maceral! Its the Clam Chowder! – Its absolutly astonishing! You can't find better chowder anywhere . . . including in New England! I don't know Chef Glenn does it and don't much care. Just . . .BRING IT ON BABY! King Neptune dosen't eat this good. Its a perfect neighborhood bar - worth the drive from anywhere. I've been to both locations and that's true for either one of them! Make sure you stop by before you see Buffett!
The Coast Is Here – Spondivits has become a must-stop for me on the way home from Hartsfield International. The food's so good, it almost makes me wish I lived on the Southside. There's nothing too fancy here, just basic seafood like oysters on the half shell and boiled crab legs, but they do it so well! The service is extremely friendly as well.
