Excellent seafood buckets, cold beer! – The seafood buckets are delicious, messy and filling! The beer cold, the crowd loud and the place is just plain ("plane?" no pun-intended as it is near the airport) fun! great place to go after getting back to Hartsfield or before a long flight out....
What's the Buzzzz?!?! – I was not impressed by the service or staff. Yes, sassy but also crass! This was not the best experience. My food was undercooked when asked if I could have the meal prepared again the solution to the problem was that they take the same food and fry it again ( fish sandwich ) which was already fully dressed in the same cooking oil that everyone else in the place would get their food and then serve it back to me. "The" Atlanta Seafood Shack!-An Original! – I've been dining here for the past twenty-five years, and have always been treated with respect by the entire staff. Great no frills seafood – I regularly go to this Atlanta seafood with co-workers, we are hooked on the great seafood here. Yes, the prices for seafood are a little bit high, expect to pay about $25 for your bucket of seafood, but get real, seafood is expensive everywhere you get it! And here the prices for what you get aren't that bad at all...$25 for a whole pound of King Crab legs? Go there if you want the best seafood in town – Spondivits truly does have the best seafood in town, hands down. Now the service is mediocre. There are good & bad waitresses, but if you want great seafood its worth the hassle to go and get it from this place. I have gone here a number of times & even though the service varied, the food was always great. Coming from a person that grew up on the Gulf where seafood was always fresh and good, this place comes highly recommended from me.
It's Spondivits not Red Lobster – Something you have to except in the Atlanta area from a popular restaurant which does not take reservations, if you arrive at dinner time you will have to wait to be seated between 30 to 60 minutes. This place was horrible!!! – Wait was too long. Staff seemed indifferent. Seafood was overcooked, chewy and dry. Extremely overpriced. Atmospere is cluttered and loud. The clam chowder that some rave about tasted bland. You would do better to eat Progressive! I've had better lobster at Outback Steakhouse, and for half the price! Will not return...EVER
Incredible – I went with friends this weekend to Spondivits. It was ablsolutely the best seafood I've had in Atlanta. The atmosphere is very laid back and you feel like you are on the beach. I had a Lobster Bucket and it's the first time in my life I actually got full on lobster. The garlic butter was great as well. For the amount of lobster that I got, I felt that the price was more than reasonable. It's not cheap, but well worth the expense. If you love lobster - you've got to try it.
AWESOME SEAFOOD – Recommended by the WELLESLEY INNS clerk, we visited SPONDIVITS on a Thurseday evening. It was jam packed. After a 30 minute wait, we had a table. The seafood is absolutely outstanding. Customer service was extremely average and value is nil. Hostess automatically included the tip when she brought the bill. I spent over 100 bucks on 2 adults and 2 little ones. We (Wife & I) still considered the money well spent and would visit SPONDIVITS again.
