Good front desk staff but infringes on an individuals constitutional rights as a place that is for the community I find it quite concerning that we cannot exercise our 1st amendment freedoms on this property. I do challenge the community to step it up and hold these big corporations accountable to the freedoms we have as individuals and the meaning behind being a community resource. Janet was working and showing me through all of the machines and how to use them. She was the best person to teach someone how to use the gym.
I have been a loyal member of the YMCA for nearly five years. However, I’ve recently experienced increasing dissatisfaction at the Spokane Valley branch due to the conduct of the current manager, Deborah MacDonald. Deborah has called me multiple times during my workday on two separate occasions (Feb. 2025 and July 2025) to "remind" me about their policy regarding Child Watch and the Family Center despite my having already discussed the matter with another staff member and believing we had reached an understanding.
