Staff put me in the room ~10min early, not usually a problem, but I wasn't given time to complete the new patient paperwork before Dr. Demakis was in the room. He was nice, but he didn't review my (unfinished) paperwork, didn't seem to have reviewed my overall history, & left before I could gather my thoughts enough to ask him what I needed to ask. Dr demakas put a charite artificial disc in me in 2009. He made a lot of false claims about the disc as far as how good it was and how it would fix everything and how long it would last. Since the surgery I've been in pain since. I now need it removed which is a life threatening surgery that nobody wants to do while my life falls apart. I've barely been able to work since and now the disc is breaking and is crooked. Everyone I have met on this staff so far is kind and treats each patient with respectful care. While the specialty itself and types of problems addressed could feel daunting, the atmosphere is lighthearted and even fun. Dr. Demakas gives his opinion with gentle honesty and listens to patient questions and input. He is willing to do further investigating when warranted. I am very grateful to have a doctor like him.
