For more than 12 years, I struggled with debilitating back pain caused by scoliosis. I had the good fortune of being referred to Amy Sbihli for treatment of my later in life scoliosis. Amy is an expert in her field, a great teacher, and a very down to earth person! She has taught me a new way of understanding my body and posture, and this awareness continues to deepen in my individual sessions with her and doing exercises at home. Years of playing tennis and daily runs somewhat cut short after being hit by a car as a pedestrian brought me to numerous physical therapists with mixed (at best) results. After being diagnosed a decade later with a substantial scoliosis, I found the PT treatments hugely unsatisfactory--cliched back exercises given to anyone with a back issue. I was not diagnosed with scoliosis until I injured my back in college many years ago. Needless to say, I had exceeded the point where bracing would be a benefit. As a nurse, I had access to and knowledge of highly regarded orthopedic/spine specialty physicians.
