Nice restaurant! – We visited there around Oct. 2005 for lunch in a weekday. There aren't many people, only four tables filled, it was very empty. Ordered clam chowders and two fish entry with a chocolate cake. The fish entry was presented very nicely, and it tastes good for the price. Mine was fresh berries (strawberry, blue berry, reaspberry) with chuck king simon and a unknown mushroom, all mixed in a creamy sauce. On top of all those, a bowl of white rice is added! It tastes great, especially for girls who like sweets/so... read more
User review by reyrey7 – When my friends and I decided to eat here we didnt know what to expect other than that we would be eating seafood, and let me say, all of us were stunned at how wonderful the food was. It was a beautiful day so we took advantage of their very nice outdoor seating and were served by some of the nicest people. Our food was presented so well and arrived very fast, not to mention it was some of the best seafood I have ever had. If youre ever in the mood for amazing food, great people, and a very beautifu... read more
Go to the Bar.... – The bar at McCormick & Schmick's offers one of (if not the THE) largest scotch selections in all of Houston. They've got great happy hour appetizers, as well. I've never had a problem with the service...too bad for those that have. It's classy and cofortable.
A Dissapointment – Sitting at the bar was a mistake, as the bartender was very slow at taking my order (the bar was not busy at all...it should not have taken that long). I felt like I had to ask for EVERY little thing...nothing was offered to us. It seemed like the bartender doted on the other party at the bar with great detail and ignored my party. The mussels were delicious, so I would return for the food. Sit at the bar if you want horrible service.
Disappointed No More.... – I took my family here for Easter dinner. First we had reservations, and still had to wait 10 minutes for a table, and there were plenty open. We were very disappointed with the food and the service. I ordered the Top Sirloin, which was too chewy and had no flavor at all. Actually, my whole meal had no flavor, the mashed potatoes and brocolli, none. My son ordered the Marlin, which he said was good, but very tiny for the price. I would not reccomend this place at all for the food. It was way over pr... read more
Service is slipping – While I enjoyed our meal, it wasn't perfect, considering the prices. Service was pretty good although the waitress didn't notice that I didn't have a knife and I had to wait a few minutes to get one. The crab louie we split as a salad was quite large and tasty. And, the salmon was cooked perfectly. However, the vegetables looked like they had literally been thrown on the plate, and the roasted potatoes seemed to have been cooked yesterday. The bread wasn't sliced well enough, and we had to tear it apart... read more
Awesome seafood! – I am a clam chowder afficionado and this place had some of the best chowder I have ever had. The atmosphere was great. We chose to sit at the bar and the waitstaff was attentive and not overbearing. Service was quick but not rushed. We had plenty of time to enjoy our appetizer before our entrees arrived and drinks glasses were never empty. Food was excellent, service was great and very friendly and the decor is very cool. We plan to be regulars!
From crawfish and crab to steelhead and sturgeon, this Portland icon has done seafood right since 1892. – In Short Every night buzzes with well-dressed locals and seafood-seeking tourists in the pleasantly understated dining room. The tiled bar, usually standing room only, is full of loud, lively conversation and the scent of cigars. The daily menu features more than 30 fresh, flown in delicacies including oysters and razor clams. Don't miss the popular creamy clam chowder or the seared ahi. For dessert, the dense bitterswee... read more
Sunday Family Dinner – The restaurant is pretty good and acceptable. We went with family and were four adults only. The servicer was friendly and amicable. The menu offering is larger than say a Legal's. Appetizers - the mussels and RI quahogs were a bit spicy. The chowder was fine. The broiled seafood platter was delicious and the traditional atlantic cod was great. The only thing too sour was the linguine with clam sauce - too much lemon juice. The desserts looked delicious, but we did not have any of them. The great thing... read more
