Extreme Disappointment for the Price – I made reservations for Father's Day for my husband and his 3 teenage stepchildren. Most of the tables were full, but because we had a reservation, we got right in (thanks opentable website!) I had been to the McCormick & Schmicks in KC and had great service and food, but this one wasn't the same. Seriously Disapointed – The service was fantastic, but the food what soooooo Okay. It wasn't bad just boring. I had the Ivory Salmon and expected to be wowed for the price I paid, but it could be replaced with any whitefish on riceroni, even the raspberry mousse was just okay. The best part of the mousse was the chocolate cup, but that is easy. Meh, just okay.
the best seafood in pdx – need i say more? Jake's is one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in portland. elegant yet casual atmosphere with consistently the best seafood. try crabcake appetiters. wine selection is extensive though i'm not a wine drinker. the price is in the premier range but you get what you pay for. the service is unmatched. every single waiter/waitress has been extremely knowldable and attentative. two thumbs up.
Sickness and not worth $$$ – Yes, it can happen anywhere, but for us it happened here. My boyfriend was ill from his fish dish. Lots of cramping and throwing up. I had a different dish and was fine. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the price, even without the sickness. Pick a different restaurant. Nearby, we liked E & O Trading company and Azucar.
Great food, great looking restaurant, poor service and management. – This place is by far the best for seafood in Columbus at a great price and setting. Unfortunately the service is off and on, culminating with a late night dining experience that has led me not to return again. We were sat on the patio about 10PM, with two other tables finishing up. Excellent – My wife and I almost decided on another restaurant by reading the negative reviews. We are so glad we ignored the negative and went with the positive reviews. The place is fantastic! Our waiter Skipper was the best waiter I have ever had in 4 decades of dining. The seafood and wine were excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Overall great restaurant – Had reservations for 6 last night (Tuesday). We were seated promptly in a cozy, private alcove. When my mom made reservations, she told them it was my father's birthday, so they specially printed the menus for our table with a happy birthday message on them. The service was awesome from start to finish, by both the server and an assistant. High hopes banished... – We had high hopes but were not impressed. My halibut "monterrey style" was baked, and came out watery with barely any crab meat topping, my husband's scallop dinner had a whopping 3 whole scallops... poor fellow left hungry. And although we reserved a week in advance, our "cozy" table we requested got us an aisle table next to a noisy waiter station with constant traffic. We won't be returning.
Anniversary Occassion was great! – We made reservations 2 weeks in advance for a Saturday at 6:15 for our Anniversary. We were seated when we arrived within less than one minute. For an appetizer we had crab cakes and a salad. For our entree we both had the Mixed Grill, which was a combination plate of scallops, shrimp, steak and Atlantic Salmon.
