Best host staff duo – My family has freqented the Harborside for a couple years now and I myself have frequented the waterfront gem for many months now and I always have a great time. I request to sit in the same spot and have never had a problem! The lighting under my preferred spot is fantastic and the beautiful ladies at the front desk (especially the shorter one with a brown bob and her much taller brunette couterpart) have always been smiling and having a great time with thier job. Average – We went to this restraurant on 7/20/07. It was nothing special. The service was good but the food was very average and overpriced. Will not go back. The bar was very nice and the interior of the restaurant was nice as well but none of the food was above average.
It was just ok – We had an appetizer and two entrees (no drinks) and spent $60 and it was NOT worth it. The seared tuna was bland and chewy. The shark steak was so overpowered by blackened seasoning that we could have been eating a shoe for all I know because that was rubbery, too. Our waitress was a little annoying, overly friendly and working at a super high speed without allowing us time to look at the menu, or talk to each other. Very Impressed! – I went with a bunch of family members for my grandmother's birthday, and none of us were disappointed. The steaks were cooked to what everyone ordered. The fish is fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgable. We were also seated at a big window with a view of the Harbor, and it was great.
yummy – i got the shrimp and scallop pasta fettucini - it was delicious! there was a great flavor of pepper and parmesean in the fettucini, its definitly not your mediocre sauce. nicely presented, decent portion (i left stuffed) and service was friendly and fast.
Way overpriced – The portions at this resturant have got to be the smallest i've seen. One guest ordered jumbo shrimp cocktail appetizer. The shrimp were indeed huge so I ordered shrimp stuffed figuring I would get a couple of nice stuffed shrimp.wrong! For $26.80 I got in a small bowl 4 med. sized shrimp covered with imperial crab.All of the guests in a party of 14 joked about the size of the portions . Best Happy Hour in Pasadena and Beyond – The 5 stars are for the happy hour - if it was just the restaurant I would give 3 or 4 stars. I've been to the restaurant itself once for a business lunch and once for a rehearsal dinner - both times were good, not stand-out. I personally am not a huge fan of American food so the prices here are too expensive for me - if I'm going to pay that price I would go to a four-star French place on the beach or something. Very good pasta and excellent service...:-) – I had gone to Mcormicks with a friend of mine on a saturday afternoon without any reservations...it was quite busy and we were seated by the bar till we could get a table...the bartender was very helpful and offered us some excellent choice of wine...soon enough we were seated...the cuisine was a lot of pasta and seafood and hence thats wht i ordered....they make it just right to ur liking ...as in my friend likes her pasta not with a lot of cheese and i love mined filled with it... read more
Bad food + mediocre service + high prices = never again. – Other than airport food I have never been so startled by the gap between the quality of a restaurant's food and the restaurant's prices. Not only did we have to wait 10 minutes for our reservations, but once we got inside we found that there were at least 10 empty tables. Our appetizers were uninspired and not very good.
