Pass on this restaurant – Made reservations for their special Veterans' Day dinner, several days before Nov. 11, 2007 but found out on Nov. 11, 2007 they had deleted it. We asked for a window table since they had space an hour earlier at 5 pm - they didn't give us a window table even though there were six or seven window table available for over an hour. very negative experience! – this restaurant is a total disappointment for me. we have been to lots of charlotte area seafood eateries, by far this has the lowest points in our expectations. service was slow, ambiance was below average, and quality of food was below average. we ordered a pie at last, and only a bowl of sugared and canned fruit was served. when we complained, the waitress said, 'well , you ate it , did n't you'. so , that explains the service part of it . i would not recommend to anyone!
Great Place - lots of energy, great seafood and service – We're heard poor reviews on this site about this place and were a little leary. But, we were tired after a long day of sightseeing so it was close. We were very pleasantly surprized. We were walk-ins (Friday night) got seated by the window, and ran through a selection of wonderful fresh oysters, a beer sampler, arctic char, and king salmon along with an amazing dessert sampler. The Best Dining In Austin – My wife is a chef, and we are quite picky, consequently, in our dining. This restaurant is always the staple for our favorite dining choice, as much as we continue to branch out, we continue to return to McCormick's...First, there is no freezer. Avoid during the weekend.... – The food was good, when we got what we ordered and when it finally arrived. I would have rather of gone somewhere else, b/c there was no organization or help for the people working there.
Fresh Fresh Seafood, but not much else – The seafood was very fresh, and I loved that, but flavor-wise it wasn't anything special. For the price and the name I was expecting a lot, but I think I have had better flavors at Legal Sea Food haha.
Food was average – The food at McCormick & Schmicks in Charlotte was just ok. We were lured by the menu changing daily but were somewhat disappointed in the quality of the food. It seemed more like a chain restaurant and less like the upscale, fresh meal we were expecting. We did send back our appetizer of pan-fried oysters because they tasted really fishy and the breading on it seemed like it had been frozen on prior to cooking.
Great Happy Hour! – This is the place I go for happy hour. The menu prices are super low. You can get a cheeseburger and fries for $1.99! I opt for the crabcake burger though which is $3.99. I can never finish it though. The mussels in the red curry is my favorite thing. They don't always offer it on their happy hour menu, but they should. The atmosphere is nice. I love the location right by the water. Service is good.
tourist trap. – there are better places! we are tourists and went because we thought we'd get really good seafood with a view. well, if that's what you're looking for, go out to the cliff house. McCormick & Kuleto's has average food, it just happens to be in a great location with a great view. i was unimpressed with the ambiance... the lighting was really bright, the walls are dirty, the bathrooms need updating... the place has a lot of potential, but they don't seem to care because they know they have a lot of tourist traff... read more
