Delicious food, but noisy – I've been to this McCormick and Schmick's twice. Once I was seated upstairs, which was lovely in a booth. But downstairs is huge and very noisy. The food is overall good - only a few bum dishes, but they're still at least adequate. The waitstaff is fantastic; very knowledgeable and professional. Its pricey, but the fresh fish is good (try the Mahi Mahi), and its a much better alternative to Bookbinder's. You'll be treated well, so its worth a try.
apparently they don't have any seats... – If the hostess bothers to seat you, it might be an o.k. place to visit. The incompetent hostess told us there was no wait and then proceeded to wait. She even asked if we'd be willing to give up our table at 6 (2 hours from when we attempted to sit down) due to a large party coming in. After she began chatting with the other employees, we gave up and left. Clearly 4 p.m at a Sunday is just a too stressful time for her to do her job and seat the customers. Best Fish in Austin – I happened in to McCormick & Schmick's one afternoon with my family and was SHOCKED. The Service was upscale, the atmosphere was incredible, and the food was TERRIFIC. i had a white fish that was tender and moist. Overall i highly recommend dining here.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!!! – It?s sad that so many people did not have a pleasant visit here because I did, and I would CERTAINLY come back!! less than okay food – My Boyfriend, old coworker and I dined here last week. I have to say...the views were spectacular however the food (and I never say this) was garbage. I dine regularly in NYC at well known steak houses. My boyfriend ordered a steak that tasted like hamburger meat...that would be fine if it didn't cost $30. It was honestly quiet gross. I had the sea scallops and they were nothing to write home about. The only thing positive to say about this place is the view.
Great All Around Seafood Place with enchanting view. – We ate at McCormick & Smicks Harborside tonight and though we've lived in Portland for many years it was our first time. We took our two children (2 and 10) and it was a GREAT experience. Great lunches for carryout – I have only had lunch to go that I pre-ordered before picking up. Delicious seafood chowder and a fabulous seafood cobb salad with shrimp & scallops. Excellent service on the phone and at the bar for the pickup.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! – Unfortuanteyl ate at this restaurant during a summer vacation in July. Service was horrible, worst I have ever seen. Waiter took over 15 minutes to come over and get our drink order as he was too busy pampering the table of 5 next to our table of 4. Our waiter also seemed a bit on edge and disinterested in everything. We never received bread and each course took longer and longer to get to us.
