Man, this place has lost its luster! We entertained out of town guests (from LA) at this place and all we had was beautiful surroundings and food that wasn't upto snuff. Bland, boring, sedate; you get the picture. The wait staff was less than astute too, which made our experience even worse! Grr!!!
A place of satisfaction to my palate and dining experience – Historical, antiquing, yet a place of great comfort to dine in for great food, drinks and service. The executive chef is very meticulous in his selections of all ingredients, especially seafood. Yum! Even some basic food like New England Clam Chowder is unique, tasteful, and very gourmet. Great place to keep coming back. Also, don't forget to check out a special chef dinner when you have a chance. It goes fast!
Not a Good Night – On this occassion, I received very poor service. I frequent McCormick restaurants frequently, and this visit was a major dissapointment. We we seated at a very small table, which I believe staff reserve for people of my height. It is a corner table, but the foot space is very small and the chairback, upright, without a cushion. One can feel every movement of the other individual sharing the bench behind. While our waiter was courteous, he served us the longest meal I have had in a LONG time. He left us for... read more
Make other plans – We just returned from what was to be a celebration at this restaurant. We were very disappointed by the food. Our kids came with us and they didn't even eat their food--how hard is it to cook a grilled cheese sandwich or cheeseburger? The seafood was definitely off, not prepared well & sides weren't even trying to be good. Risotto that would be easily bettered by boxed risotto from the supermarket.
Horrible Service-Never going there again! – My boyfriend and I came for a quick dinner. We waited for 55 min. after we ordered; and we only ordered 1 burger, buffalo wings, and a shrimp cocktail. While we there, these guys sat down to a dirty table even after we put in our order. So the waitress had time to clean their table and then they got their table full of food and were enjoying it for a good 20 min before we got so upset that we asked the waitress, and her answer was that they ordered "medium" burgers, while ours was ... read more
Good/not great – Dined on Saturday night. Restaurant was not overly busy. Seated in second tier area facing the Bay. Great view, romantic setting. Service was good, not great. Food was good, not great. Somewhat overpriced. Chain restaurant affiliated with McCormick & Schmick. I won't trash the place with this review, but there are better restaurants in San Francisco. You're paying a premium for the view.
Valentine's Dinner Average – No doubt the seafood is fresh but after the entire experience, Mccormick & Schmick's leaves much to be desired. I mistakenly ordered Ahi Tuna which I thought was going to be more a tuna steak. Instead, it was slices of tuna over seasoned with black pepper which spoiled the flavor. We also ordered king crab which was very good; obviously very fresh. Service was okay; the staff are very nice but the food came out at a crawling pace. If I spend 2 hours for dinner, I expect a 5 course meal at an even... read more
Great service, Great food, I will definitely recommend – I went to the new downtown location just a couple of days ago, WOW. The happy hour was jammed with young vibrant professionals sipping on some of the best priced drinks and great looking food. We order the ahi lolli pops that came with a sweet spicy sauce, yum. Then we had a few Ziegenbock beers for less then 3.00 and a mojito's for around 7.00. The bar quickly filled up as it became a standing room only, i suggest get there early to claim a spot. About 7:00 the dining... read more
Best Happy Hour in the Bay – A huge burger for $1.95!!!! The entire happy hour menu is super cheap. We filled the table with food for practicaly nothing and all of it was great.
