the manger at this store is a drinker. I see him every day on his break goring to far westeren booze store. he always buys the same thing, He always buys a bottle of gin and a bottle of wine. I have back up for that.. This guy is a total un-sober guy
Tall Dark and Handsome! Love Spencer's Market and its withing very close walking distance to my house! Kinda of a small market but everything is always fresh! Plus there is an adorable tall dark and handsome man who works in the produce dept but I'm too shy to ask him out! ;)
Spencers Market in Orcutt I've only been to this one but they do have real fresh produce and meats. Prices are higher than normal places and it's not a full grocery store but I go there when I need things that are fresh. The isles are small though and not easy to go in with kids but where is now days? I love their steaks!
Small Orcutt Market Small grocery store with a bit higher prices however if you're in a pinch it's a cute place to shop. The produce section is hit and miss at times--sometimes fresh, sometimes not. I shop here mainly just to buy organic chicken, which is also hit and miss as far as keeping it in stock. They also carry my favorite -- Boar's Head -- however the deli employees aren't the friendliest and often seem to be put out.
Beware of Special Orders at Spencer's Easter shoppers beware: For Easter 2008, I special-ordered a leg of lamb for Easter dinner from the on-site butcher at the Santa Maria Store. He told me it would be ready for pickup on the Wednesday afternoon before Easter. When I went to get it, he said "I forgot to place the order." "What," I said, "It's for our Easter dinner! I depended on you!" And all he said was "Sorry about that." (You can almost hear the tone of voice; it was like, "So?".) I wrote to the manager to report that an... read more
Really great grocery store I really like Spencer's. First of all, they hav the absolute BEST meat and they frequently have good specials on it. They also sell local produce, which I love because I like to give my business to local growers. Another thing that I have found is that they have a lot of specialty baking items that are hard to find at the large groceries stores.
