I live in the area and have taken lessons with this school. The owner is dedicated and was upfront with me about training costs and the process overall before the flight training would even start. That is a very rare thing when somebody wants your money. I've also had some very good luck with a few CFIs at the school and one that I didn't learn much from, but part of the process is finding someone who clicks with your personality. Overall, it's the owner, Mike and his business that gets the five stars.
I'd heard good things about Spencer Aviation and had signed up for the ground school. Max was a great instructor who was very knowledgeable, and helped simplify some complex concepts and provide great memory tools. Upon receiving a passing score in the classes final exam, I received an endorsement to take the FAA Written exam which I passed a few weeks later.
