Horrid. No one around to even get a conversation going. I’m not going to stand around and wait for someone to take my money as if it’s a privilege. Too many smog places for this one to be run so poorly.
Nado was great! I go here every time I need a smog certificate. I was in and out in 20 minutes, plus I passed! Thank you
Speedy Smog in La Mesa is a TEST ONLY smog check station. The smog station can only check the smog but is not allowed to do any form of repairs. There is no benefit for a TEST ONLY shop to fail a car as they do not have any ability to do any form of repairs. Someone suggesting that a TEST ONLY smog check station would deliberately fail a car to offer an expensive repair is a TOTALLY FAKE review. Amazing service, friendliness and professionalism. Possibly THE nicest and most accommodating tech - Nado - I’ve ever experienced at any shop. The shop may look a little rough, but it’s not a bad place to get a smog check done. They were able to smog my 1989 Nissan Hardbody with no issues…in and out. I recommend this place, mainly due to Nado, and will be returning in the future…as long as he continues to work there.
I don't know why this place has such a high rating. I took my 1992 Toyota Pickup, and they pulled a cable off the spark plug. Then they called me to say there was a misfire. The young guy said that "a buddy" could fix it for about 500. I paid for an Uber and went back. I called my dad who is a mechanic, and he told me what to check for. I plugged it back in and suddenly my truck passed smog. These guys are shady as hell.
