Excellent Y-Body/F-Body Tuning Facility A couple of years I decided to boost my performance on my Corvette. Speed Inc. did an excellent job in installing an air intake, aftermarket exhaust, LS1 tuning, upgraded gears, and torque converter. Their location is somewhat hidden but easy to find. They pricing is on par with other tuners in the area but their job is top knotch. DO NOT GO TO LS1 SPEED INC! We spent $13,000.00 with them on a new engine installation that was originally quoted $9,200.00 and still do not have a vehicle that runs. They arranged with their tuning guy to have it tuned after the engine was supposedly finished. The engine was damaged during tuning, and now they are telling us that we have to pay them to take apart the engine, run diagnostics and any repairs. They do not take pride in their work and have a very rude service manager.
They installed a supercharger on my 2015 Mustang GT. Great communication and email updates (with pictures) during the work. They did what they said they would do, at the cost they quoted, and they did it on schedule. No surprises, total professionals, no BS. Can't say enough good things about them.
Just had my 2018 zl1 camaro at speed inc for the second round of mods. This time a kong ported blower, 103th body, 9.55 lower pulley and their 219/235 speed inc cam. Before mods were headers, off roads, roto fab. This time they ran into trouble and had my car longer that expected. Shit happens. My car on a drivability scale is a 9 out of 10. A tiny and I mean tiny buck when stopping. Normal faily drivability is almost Like stock. The cam does have a little cam sound at idle but I'm on my factory cat back so that may hide so... read more
There are a few performance shops in chicago land, just cruise past this one. If you don't, be sure to examine and document damages or poor work before leaving. If found after the fact, be sure to report right away. Sadly, they don't take ownership of their work, and unless you can prove they screwed up. So don't extend them any favors.
I have been going to Speed Inc since 2005. Over the years, I have brought my car there for service, purchased parts, installed nitrous systems, dyno tuning, etc. And each and every time, I get the best customer service second to none. I proudly display their name on my windshield and I will always continue to bring my future projects to Speed Inc as well as continue to recommend them to all myfriends.
The negative reviewer wrote " I wish I had seen the other negative review on here before I went here. " I hate to say it, but you did see the negative review... WHEN YOU WROTE IT!!!! Both negative reviews were written (poorly) by the same user. I have dealt with Tom before Speed was even a full time gig. I watched him take it from a part time shop to a shop known and respected WORLD WIDE... He must be doing something right... Don't let one negative review fool you. Speed is the place to go.
