Go across the road to Lumus Imaging; they bulk bill. After being told specifically that "Medicare would take care of the cost" of an ultrasound, I was forced to pay for the service. Had I known at the time of making my appointment (instead of being told Medicare would take care of the cost) I would not have proceeded and instead made an appointment across the road at Lumus Imaging who bulk bill. Highly unprofessional. Called me with tests results to tell everything was fine and call back 5 minutes later to announce that they misread the results and that things weren’t fine at all. Second appointment, 20 minutes late.
Today I visited Spectrum Radiology in Maroubra Junction for a CT scan and had an excellent experience. I faced some difficulties with the cannula insertion for the contrast, and it was quite a tense moment for me. Karen, the operator who looked after me, was absolutely wonderful. She took her time, made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process, and handled the situation with so much care and sensitivity. Very disappointed with the lack of organization in scheduling appointments. I took a day off work to attend my medical exam, only to arrive and find out that no booking had been made — even though it was confirmed beforehand. This kind of mistake shows poor management and lack of care for patients’ time. Definitely needs improvement in communication and coordination.
I tried calling to ask if they were bulk billed. I was on call waiting for >25min. In fact I waited so long that in the same time I travelled to Marrickville and got a bulk billed Xray done. It was a great experience there - less than 10min wait for straight walk in. At this rate of service quality, Spectrum would have to pay me to visit.
