Specialty Steel Treating is the only commercial heat treat facility in the United States approved to carburize Class 'A' Flight Safety and Flight Critical Components for Bell Helicopter. It primarily serves the aerospace, automotive, truck and tool and die industries. The company has grown from a 4,000-square-foot plant with 11 employees to a heat treat corporation with three operating facilities that encompass more than 120,000 square feet and consists of more than 130 employees. The company operates a plant in Fraser, Mich. Donald G. Cox founded Specialty Steel Treating in 1956.
