Nice business. 4th generation, family owned. Friendly staff, live receptionist, great products.
This is the absolute worst place to work. I've worked at about 20 different machine shops, this one takes the cake by far. Management is completely tone deaf to the impossible workload given out on a daily basis. There is no training process. It is a sink or swim situation for new employees from day 1.None of my coworkers enjoyed this job. The general consensus for this place is very negative. They treat their employees very poorly.
Don't waste your time at SMC if youre looking for a job you could retire from. I started as a lead assembly, Angel was OK. Alot of favoritism and treat everyone differently. I shortly got promoted to QA. The QA supervisor never liked me, he has made some racist statements while I was in the lab. Mike also have a bad attitude, he bring his problem at home to work. I was treated unfairly, very poor training and poor communication, he made me do all the dirty work, never lend a hand to help unless you're one of his favorite. Af... read more
