My family’s experience with Special Beginning’s Midwifery was much less than we expected. We made an educated choice to have a homebirth after research and discussions with friends that have gone through it. It is a choice that we will never make again. After an intense labor that resulted in emergency surgery, we had no other choice than to transfer to WakeMed via ambulance given the condition that my wife was left in after delivery. I cannot recommend anyone use their services considering our experience.
Our experience with Special Beginning Midwifery did not meet our expectations. We chose a home birth to avoid unnecessary medical intervention. The home birth did not go as we expected. I was transferred by EMS to the hospital, where I required emergency surgery under general anesthesia with significant loss of blood. A recent follow-up visit determined that additional corrective surgery is necessary, along with ongoing physical therapy. If we could do it over, we would deliver in a hospital without hesitation. Being in the care of Krissi at Special Beginnings was wonderful. She is so knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and encouraging. I would recommend this Midwifery to anyone!
Adiah, Krissy, and Ambar were incredible. This wasn't my first home birth, but I was new to the area since having my last baby. They were recommended by a friend and in a Facebook group. From the prenatal appointments to the birth to hearing me out through all of my fears, they were there for me. I felt very supported. They are all so knowledgeable. I would absolutely use them for a future pregnancy and birth!
The most special, wonderful, and beautiful birth experience ever. I’m afraid that the limited # of characters in this post will not allow me to accurately reflect how thankful we were to have the Special Beginnings team as a part of our pregnancy/birth/postpartum experience.
