In response to the person who said the dog had mental problems, you have to realize that not all dogs are well adjusted. You HAVE to be prepared to give a LOT of attention to your animal. My little dog, who was 6 yrs old when I adopted her, took a solid 2 years to decompress and adjust to our household. I hope you returned it to the rescue so that they could find it a proper home. I adopted a sweet dog from this this organization who is a has severe mental issues. She was obviously horribly neglected. When she came to me, it was within days of her being spayed and the drivers took a long route. She was supposed to be delivered in 2 days, it took 3. By then she chewed away at her stitches, opened her wound and I had to rush her to my vet. Her breath was awful. My vet said she needed a cleaning but within a month her teeth were clean.
