Spa Melissa is in a really lovely location up above Pine Square in historic downtown Mount Vernon. Melissa clearly has an expertise in deep tissue and sports massage, and she's an athlete herself, in addition to having a background as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. She's really strong, too, for those who are seeking real deep tissue work. Melissa is BY FAR the most knowledgeable and talented massage therapist I have ever been to. In 47 years of getting 2 hour massages on my part she is mind blowingly good. She works through the adhesions and knots that you have in your muscles and gets to the heart of the current problems that are affecting you. I CANNOT recommend her enough! Going forward I will go to no one other than her. I have found THE BEST!!!
I have been going to Melissa for years and she is the absolute best massage therapist I have gone to. I am an ultra runner who regularly gets deep tissue massages from her before my events--and then again afterward for recovery. I cannot emphasize how much these sessions contribute to my success in completing my races and recovering afterward. Melissa is an accomplished runner who understands the needs of athletes and how to help them accomplish their best results.
I cannot say enough good things about Melissa. I first met her while I was experiencing pregnancy pain, and she helped me make the last few months so much better. Then, postpartum, I had excruciating tailbone pain. While, my obgyn thought I might need surgery, I returned to Melissa, who was able to completely fix my pain. Spa Melissa is great..she worked on my hip which was so painful getting out of bed in the morning..I was so happy to be able to get up without such pain..with continued work, I'm hoping I can put this problem to rest. Had both hips worked on today, so things will get even better as time goes on. Melissa is so knowledgeable about the human body, I feel so blessed to have been referred to her and the help she is giving me to heal my body.
