I had an incredible experience at the J.W. Marriott Edmonton Hotel Spa. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff was warm, professional, and attentive. I booked a massage with Thamara, and she was absolutely amazing. She made me feel more than welcome and created a calming and comfortable environment right away. Used to be my favorite spa — now a major disappointment. We planned our anniversary around this visit, but the experience was chaotic and unprofessional. Staff were constantly slamming doors and treating the relaxation area like their break room. My RMT had the same careless energy — the massage was the worst I’ve ever had. It was impossible trying to book an appointment. The online system wasn’t working, so I sent three emails over the course of a week with no response. I called the spa and spoke with someone who promised to pass my message along to the manager so we could book. I still did not receive a reply. Ultimately, we chose to book elsewhere due to the complete lack of follow-up. Unreal that we couldn’t even get a response for a high-end treatment. My friend and I had facials for special occasion and the staff were wonderful. Kathy and Simmeron were both exceptional in their facial service and Kathy was very attentive in following up as we relaxed in the lounge. They gifted some ampules for added at-home care. And while we relaxed at the spa lounge, they served us a complimentary chocolate cake for our special occasion. Thank you once again for the relaxing and recharging service.
Genia is a gentle sweet drink of sunshine and goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. JW spa is amazing and having Genia in their staff is a plus. Thank you JW staff for making my birthday extra special.
