I placed my wife in the care of Moffitt Cancer Center because of the national rating. What was disappointing was that we received only standard of care treatment. This could have been done at our home in Andrews, NC. Our medical oncologist, Dr Pina, prescribed Temodar though her glioblastoma was unmethylated. It only served to impair her bone marrow and ultimately she could complete only 4 of the 6 cycles. Science shows Temodar has no effect on this class of GBM. I saw Anne the ARNP who works with palliative care team here at magnolia for severe ulcerated esophagitis from 10 rounds of irinotecan. She doesn’t communicate to the patient at all, took down my PCA pump after 2 days without telling me, then ordered strict oral medications when I was 10/10 pain. Her theory for managing acute pain in a hospital oncology setting is absurd. Doesn't deserve the one star.We called Moffitt to get a second opinion. We were told our insurance was out of Network. We have out of network benefits. We were told to call our insurance and get a letter of agreement because we have out of network benefits. The rudest people work there. You are deal with people with a cancer diagnosis have alittle compassion. We spoke to several people all rude. Thier is a nurse at Moffit Hospital Mckimley Dr. That is absolutely atrocious and condescending at Infusion. If you get her run or ask for a different nurse her name is Maria. She should have taken a different career path.
I was told to get a second opinion by my oncologist. This is the absolute worst place to go to. A stat order is now me waiting a month. They do not care that you have an aggressive cancer, and they do not care that your treatment is on hold. They say they will call you back and never do they say the care but making a stat order to wait a month they don't I had a good attitude until now about this cancer. It’s been 2 years and I think about the day we met this monster that calls herself a physician. She was very rough on the exam of my mother and was very intimidating to me. I was afraid to speak my mind. Worried she would not help my mother. She has control of the care. I was referred by another physician from another state to this monster. She kept asking me. Why are you here ?
Dr. Imanirad is incredibly thorough with great bedside manner. Highly recommend.
