Stay away! If you want to save your life, forgo the ambulance and drive yourself to Durango. The ER is just about as bad as it can get - incompetent and uncaring doctors and staff, ridiculously long wait times, and outdated, unsanitary equipment and facility. Rural medicine is doomed.
Terrific rural hospital with a physicians’ clinic next door in the same complex in Cortez, CO. Great people, beautiful facility. Even a helipad for airlifts as needed. I’m particularly impressed with a certified physician’s assistant (PA/C), Shawn Palmer, whose help has been invaluable to me as his patient. Highly recommended.
This hospital do not care about their patients especially if you are native american.... I took her to farmington, NM and they told her she could've had stroke due to a blood clot. Very disappointed with Southwest Memorial Hospital
Staff were awesome. Got in, X-rays, vitals, insurance, diagnosed, meds ordered and given to me, out in less than hour. Deserves better reviews.
