New monthly service charge, ran dormant account negative by \$3.77. Production Supervisor Don threatened further fees until I go to bank and pay \$3.77. They refused to close account until I appear in person and pay the \$3.77 fee. I have a similar account, with similar circumstances, at Capital One Bank and they never started a new service charge. I have been an Amegy Bank customer since the bank was Southwest Bank of Texas. I have a free checking account and have never paid a fee in more than a decade of doing business with this bank. I do most of my business with the Cinco Ranch branch and have never found any of the employees to be less than friendly or helpful. I can call the branch directly or resolve most banking issues and/or requests via email. I have been so satisfied with Amegy for so long that I lobbied for my employer to bank there also.
Amegy bank is a horrible place to bank! I have had nothing but problems with them, and anytime I try to call and resolve them, Im met with hostility and rudeness. I had my credit card information stolen and the person made fraudulent charges onto my account, and they took FOUR MONTHS just to take the charged off! Not only that but they actually had the nerve to charge me overdraft fees because of the fraudulent charges! They refused to refund the overdraft fees until after the charges were checked out and confirmed, but as i... read more
