Keeping elderly patients waiting 2 hours past their appointment time is beyond pathetic! No excuse for the mismanagement in this office. They should have to pay patients $200 for every 1/2 they have to wait past their appointment time.
If I could give Dr. Southwell and his office zero stars I would. After having a trauma induced pulmonary embolism I was referred to his office. He told me I would need to be on a blood thinner for a minimum of three months, and he was supposed to call in the refill for the third month since the hospital took care of the first two months worth of prescriptions. Dr Southwell is one of the best doctors I’ve seen and cares about my health. His staff is friendly and always welcoming. If you ever have to wait you have to know Dr Southwell is taking care of someone. I’ve only waited for less than 30 minutes but it is worth it. I wouldn’t see anyone else.
Unfortunately, they do not answer the phone, return calls, submit your life-saving prescriptions and pre-authorizations in a timely fashion. You will spend up to 2.5-3 hours waiting past your appointment, only to be seen for 5 or so minutes, and get sent anyway without ever getting prescribed the medications that you told them stopped you from suffering in the past, and instead a far more expensive medication, for which they will never send the pre-authoritization. I've been going to doctors for 30 years because of my chronic illness and this is the best group of medical professionals I've ever encountered. They Truly Care! You feel it the moment you enter the door and talk to Shawna the receptionist. It's amazing how she deals with each person with patience and thoroughness regardless of their attitude.
