I visited the SouthState Bank Midtown branch at 712 West Peachtree St NW (Suite 120) in Atlanta a few days ago, just steps from the Georgia Tech campus at the corner of 3rd Street and West Peachtree . Pros: Very convenient location—great for students, faculty, or anyone near Midtown or Tech Square. Lobby hours are straightforward: Mon–Fri, 9 AM to 4 PM, with a walk-up ATM available 24/7 . My husband just opened an account here at this location.They are trying to close it why I don't know and trying to freeze out funds. This doesn't make any sense. The account is brand new make it make sense. This bank is horrible
The only reason I am giving two stars is because the front desk teller was nice. Jazlyn, I believe? Since I moved to Atlanta, cashing/depositing checks has been an issue. I have been to this SouthState and the one on Piedmont Road, and I had the same experience every time. They make you feel like you're lying/committing fraud. I understand ATL has become known for scamming and fraud, but not all customers are lying/being fraudulent. I sold my home in SC in July.
